Thuraya Sea Star is a voice satellite terminal with an integrated GPS tracking system, specially designed for reliable operation in harsh maritime conditions. It combines robust construction and unprecedented functionality, providing flawless voice communication on land and at sea, both in motion and stationary.
This affordable, easy-to-install, and user-friendly phone allows users to make satellite voice calls to public network phones, mobile phones, and other satellite phones via the Thuraya satellite network.
Sea Star supports SMS services through a simple menu on the phone’s large color LCD screen. An emergency call button is provided to notify pre-programmed contacts in case of an emergency. When pressed, Sea Star sends a programmed distress signal including GPS coordinates with a timestamp to up to five designated emergency rescue contacts. The device is equipped with an RJ11 port for connecting an analog phone or telephone switch. An RJ45 port is provided for GmPRS data transmission via network cable to a laptop or desktop computer for Internet access.
