The brand-new Thuraya MarineStar system — an updated version of the popular Thuraya Sea Star model — combines reliable construction with unprecedented functionality, providing flawless voice communication on land and at sea, both in motion and stationary.

This affordable, easy-to-install, and user-friendly terminal allows users to make satellite voice calls to public network phones, mobile phones, and other satellite phones via the Thuraya satellite network.

MarineStar supports SMS services through a simple menu on the terminal’s large color LCD screen. An emergency call button is provided to notify pre-programmed contacts in case of an emergency. When pressed, MarineStar sends a programmed distress signal, including GPS coordinates with a timestamp, to up to five designated emergency rescue contacts. The device is equipped with an RJ11 port for connecting an analog phone or telephone switch. An RJ45 port allows GmPRS data transmission via network cable to a laptop or desktop computer for Internet access.
